Fit Tip: Boom Shankar sizing tends to be a little more generous than standard Australian sizing, especially for our non-stretch fashion pieces—so you can move comfortably and feel fabulous.

The Cord Guru Pant in Merlot is our signature 3/4 balloon-leg pant in a fine wale, winter-weight 100% cotton cord, in a deep, true wine. It has a stretch cotton waistband with a drawstring tie, a relaxed balloon leg that's comfortable from the first wear, and four real pockets. Wear it with the District Jumper in Oyster as shown, or reach for it the way you'd reach for any good dark red — with just about anything in your winter wardrobe.
100% cotton, rib: 92% cotton, 8% elastane, crafted from rigid cord fabric, stretch cotton waistband with drawstring tie, two front pockets, two back pockets, 3/4 length.
Fit notes: Our Guru Pants are designed to be fitted at the waist with a loose comfy leg. If you are in between sizes we would recommend a size up.
Our model is 180cm tall with 79cm bust, 61cm waist, 88cm hips and wears a size 8/XS.
Care Instructions: Gentle cold machine wash with similar colours, do not bleach, do not soak, do not tumble dry, cool iron on reverse if needed, do not dry clean. Designed in Australia. Made in India.

I have just purchased my 6th pair of Guru pants, this time in the gorgeous Merlot colour! It looks exactly like it does on the Boom Shanker website, bold and impressive.
The material is good quality, it’s so soft but still holds its shape perfectly.
A quick tip on sizing: I sized down this time. My first couple of pairs were a bit too big, though I can easily tighten them with the drawstring waist.
I also completely skip the ironing. I just do a cold wash and then toss them in the dryer on a cool/warm setting (depending on the fabric). The pants come out super soft, wrinkle-free, and they don't shrink at all.
These are the most versatile pants I own and so comfortable. I wear them with boots in the winter and sporty sneakers in the summer. I love all of them! The hardest decision, which one should I wear today 😃
I bought these to wear in the cooler weather, and they are much the same as my (MANY) other guru pants, stylish, comfy and with pockets. As they are a heavier fabric I need to do the drawstring up a bit tighter, and not put things in my pockets or they tend to slide down a bit.
I love my Merlot Corduroy Guru pants. The colour is beautiful and the fabric is so soft. I have many guru pants and I love them all. So comfortable, but my Merlot cords are my winter favourite!
